Street Art by Eastlakes Very Own

Extra Credit Blog :) Joey and Hunters Tag                     Even in Eastlake you can find great street art, by locals. :)                 In Eastlakes' famous " Tunnels" where many teenagers go to hang out and be somewhere just a fence hop away from constant supervision there is the tunnel and surrounding forest area. The first image is the entrance of the tunnels, where graffiti artists have their tags sprayed with vibrant colors and perhaps their names; Roxy, Marisol (if it is their names, the artists are female) signed 2017. Also, the note on the left wall I found ironic that it was a message to the youth to appreciate meaningful graffiti, and instead they spay painted a dick over it. There were lots of CV Empire tags, claiming their territory over the area.              So, then I hopped into the tunnel and began walking through it. Its pitch black ...

Blog Number 3 !         At the San Diego Museum of Art, behind me are Amida Buddha, 17th century Japan, wood (right), Amida buddha with a raised lotus(left) and Flying Apsaras 17th century Japan, wood (top). These are all part of the permanent East Asia collection. In this section of the museum, it s set up with each art piece that shares a common trait is grouped together in the room. This room I gathered was the sculptures of the divine, with a sculpture of a Chinese boddhi visa across from these. These sculptures just took me back, they're so beautiful and handcrafted and the fact that they were made so long ago and I am able to appreciate them in person is so crazy i was in awe! Also, the content of the art themselves, so naturally peaceful and true. I also liked how the curator placed the Apsara, celestial being floating over the two Amida Buddha's. I also will always remember this day until I die I think because it was one of the favorite days of my life, ...
